Suzanne La Rosa, Publisher

Suzanne La RosaSuzanne hails from New York City and worked in publishing there (Hearst, Old House Journal, Taunton Press), but moved to Montgomery in 1997 when her husband relocated to Alabama for business reasons. She says the geography of her life is perhaps better measured by books—those she has read and loved, edited, published, and sold. Two favorites: Serendipities by Umberto Eco and Love Medicine by Louise Erdrich. In 1998, she began working with Randall Williams at Black Belt Press, and in 2000 she and Randall co-founded NewSouth Books. As NewSouth’s publisher, she is responsible for overall operations, contracts, sales and marketing, and promotions and publicity.
