Freeman W. Pollard

Freeman Pollard was born in Mobile, Alabama, on August 8, 1922. After getting his undergraduate degree in Political Science from the Univeristy of South Alabama, Pollard went on to receive his masters and Ph.D. in Political Scence from Indiania University. He has been married to Helen Louise Combs Pollard for fiftyfive years. A civil rights activist and NAACP member, Pollard was professor emeritus at St. Ambrose University, where he met E.D. Nixon who was being given an honorary Ph.D. They became friends, a friendship that resulted in Pollard writing a biography of E.D. Nixon based on their extensive interviews and conversations. Pollard is the author of one other book, Seeds of Turmoil.
